No Returns

‘Twas the day after Christmas

And all through the store,

The long line for exchanges

Led clear to the door.

But one sad little boy

Couldn’t take back his gift.

It was not what he wanted.

He really was miffed.

Though he begged and he pleaded

And sobbed to his mother,

His new sister could not

Be exchanged for a brother.
