Empty Places

From the Author:
Both my parents told me about living through the Great Depression, and I thought it was a great subject for a novel. Those years were disastrous for nearly everyone in the country, but I wanted to explore how it affected those who were already living hard lives even before the depression began.

I took the information I found and blended in some real-life history from my husband’s family to come up with the characters and story in EMPTY PLACES due to launch in the spring of 2016.

The Story

13-year-old Adabel Cutler dreams of filling all the empty places in her life. But life can be tough in Harlan County, Kentucky in 1932. Searching for lost memories and struggling to keep her family together, Adabel strives to survive through unsettling months during the Great Depression.
